Mousie's Page ~ welcome!
I do tend to ramble on about my man hermit *flirt!* If you can put up with that, feel free to wander round at will... :)
"Take my hand I give it to you, Now you own me, all I am... You said you would never leave me, I believe you, I believe. I can feel you all around me, thickening the air I'm breathing... Holding on to what I'm feeling, Savouring this heart that's healed."

This video was filmed in 1992, at the United Nations Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The speaker is 12 year old Severn Suzuki. What an awesome young lady.

Since her bold foray in the UN Summit, Severn has been an active environmental activist, speaker, television host and an author. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Ethnoecology. Severn set an example for the young generation and the adults too. She was so much aware of what was happening around her at such a small age and was not afraid to tell the adults what she felt about it.

Her speech (including full text) has been highlighted on YouthUnite, which also has many other articles from the youth of the world and their thoughts on the world they're growing up in.

We need more kids like this ~ looking out for their own futures. :)

How very moving yet horrific her words are! Her truths are so much correct and on point. But the sad point is that she can see what the adults cannot. And what is more alarming? Sixteen years have passed since she spoke, and loking around me I see now more than ever, that her world have fallen on deaf ears. Change cannot wait. We cannot start somewhere in the future. It must begin today.

So very true! Sometimes I think the young can see and understand a lot more than the older ones!

Global warming is much like religion...........Allot of passion based on a little theroy.......I do however agree more biscuts less bombs. Now only if the extremist felt that way. Then we could all live happy ever after in her perfect little world. Ok I am leaving before I piss off anymore people.
